Glenfiddich coronado como el mejor whisky escocés

Glenfiddich, el whisky de malta escocés más premiado del mundo, sigue recibiendo nuevos galardones. El último reconocimiento han sido las diez medallas concedidas en los Scotch Whisky Masters 2012. En esta edición, destacar el premio al mejor Single Malt escocés y el del whisky favorito de su categoría en el mundo.

La publicación The Spirits Bussinnes ha dado a conocer, en su edición de Mayo, el listado de galardonados de estos premios. El jurado, compuesto por prestigiosos expertos de todo el mundo, tuvo que catar y valorar cerca de 150 whiskies. Concretamente, en la categoría de Single Malt se presentaron un total de 34 variedades de whisky. Este año, como era de esperar, Glenfiddich consiguió destacar hasta en diez categorías.

La variedad Glenfiddich 15 años se convirtió en el whisky más deseado del mundo, tras recibir el Master’s Award. Además, otras siete categorías de Glenfiddich, obtuvieron primeros premios, reforzando el compromiso de la destilería en la calidad de sus Scotch Single Malt. Merece también mención el whisky The Balvenie, su destilería hermana, que recibió seis medallas en esta edición.

Para Brian Kinsman, master distiller de Glenfiddich, “conseguir destacar en estos premios es todo un honor. William Grant, fundador de Glenfiddich hace ya 125 años, apostó por la calidad en su proceso de fabricación para convertir a este whisky de malta en un producto exclusivo y es lo que hoy seguimos haciendo”.

Las categorías por las que ha sido premiado Glenfiddich en estos Scotch Whisky Masters 2012 son:

Ø Master Scotch Whisky Masters Awards 2012, categoría hasta 18 años: Glenfiddich 15 años.

Ø Oro en el Scotch Whisky Masters Awards 2012, categoría hasta 18 años: Glenfiddich Rick Oak, Glenfiddich 15 y 18 años.

Ø Oro en el Scotch Whisky Masters Awards 2012, categoría hasta 25 años: Glenfiddich 21 años y Glenfiddich Age of Discovery - Bourbon Cask.

Ø Oro en Scotch Whisky Masters Award 2012, categoría de más de 25 años: Glenfiddich 30 y 40 años.

Ø Oro en Scotch Whisky Masters Awards 2012, categoría de edición especial: Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition

Ø Plata en Scotch Whisky Masters Awards 2012, categoría hasta 25 años: Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Madeira Cask
