Varadero to Become the Gourmet Capital of Cuba

Varadero, the main travel destination for sunbathers on the island nation of Cuban island, will be hosting the International Gourmet Fair from April 12 to 16, an event launched by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism.

Based at the Plaza America Convention Center, the event is underway under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Sommeliers Club, the Culinary Federation of Cuba and the Palmares business group.

The meeting’s objective is the exchange of experiences between food and beverages
professionals, and the diversification of offerings.

Among the attractions there is an exhibition of beverages, including fortified wines, spirits and waters, together with products such as cheese, sausages, hams, oils and vinegars.

The program also includes lectures, presentations, tastings, wine and food workshops, cooking competitions, sommeliers and bartending contest.
