Great Food Paired with Great Beer Proves Wine Is Not the Only Drink in Fine Dining

One of the hottest trends in fine dining today is the creative pairing of different foods with quality, craft-brewed beers. With the increasing quality and sophistication of these beers, many aficionados of the amber brew feel their preferred beverage can stand on equal footing with the Cabernets, Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays on the tables of fine restaurants.

The Inaugural Beer Pairing Dinner last week at The Tap House, a favorite neighborhood restaurant in Tuckahoe, proved this to a pack house gathered to experience a unique menu pairing of excellent craft beers with many favorite dishes of The Tap House.

The Beer Pairing Dinner was hosted by Latis Imports, a specialty beer importer with a focus on premium brews. Latis provides The Tap House with many of the 70 plus beers the restaurant offers, and provided an impressive portfolio of versatile, quality craft beers for the event. Latis also worked exclusively with the culinary staff at the Tap House to match the perfect beer for each item created by the restaurant for the event.

The success of this beer dinner shows that as craft beers continue to develop depth and sophistication these unique beers are just as enticing a complement to good cuisine as any fine wine.

Because of the excellent response to The Tap House’s Inaugural Beer Pairing Dinner, more beer dinners are planned for The Tap House, as well as for the other Westchester and Fairfield County restaurants belonging to the Pearl Restaurant Group.
